Ingredients
  • 3 cups vegetable or chicken broth
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch
  • 1 can bamboo shoots
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon 5 spice powder
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 green onion, minced
  • Splash of soy sauce

Instructions:
1. Bring broth to a boil.

2. To make the flowers of egg in the soup, pour a little egg at a time into the broth while stirring with a fork. You can make different patterns with the egg depending on how fast and in what motion you stir the egg. The egg should cook as soon as you pour it in.

3. Add the corn starch, bamboo shoots, salt, white pepper, and 5 spice powder. Continue to cook.

4. About 3 minutes before ready to serve, stir in sesame oil, soy sauce, and green onion.

5. Serve with soy sauce and chili oil.
