Georgia Deep Dish Peach Pie


This Southern favorite is great served with ice cream.

Ingredients
  • 4 large ripe Georgia peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg (optional)

Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2. Place the bottom crust in a deep pie dish. Cut another rolled-out crust dough into strips 1/2 to 1 inch wide. This will form your lattice topping.

3. Arrange the peach slices in the pie dish. Sprinkle the brown sugar over the peaches.

4. Space the lattice crust strips across the top of the pie both vertically and horizontally. Press the edges to join the lattice top to the bottom crust.

5. Brush the top of the pie with the egg if you want the crust to be shiny.

6. Bake for 30 to 45 minutes.
