Ingredients
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons corn starch
  • A few drops orange food coloring (optional)
  • Peanut oil as needed
  • 1 pound chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon white pepper
  • Flour as needed

Instructions:
1. Mix orange zest, orange juice, rice vinegar, sugar, corn starch, and food coloring (if using) in a saucepan. Turn stove to medium heat.

2. Heat peanut oil for deep frying.

3. Beat egg with salt and pepper. Dip the chicken pieces in the egg mixture. Then coat them in flour.

4. Place pieces one at a time into the hot oil. Cook until crispy.

5. As you remove the chicken pieces from the oil, drop them into the pot of orange sauce.

6. Remove all the chicken pieces from the orange sauce.

7. Serve with steamed rice.
