Swedish Cinnamon Buns
In Sweden, cinnamon buns are garnished with pearl sugar, a coarse white sugar which is commonly used in Scandinavian confections. Indulge in these tempting buns for breakfast, dessert, or a snack.

1. Stir yeast into warm water and let sit for 10 minutes.
2. Mix flour, sugar, yeast mixture, and milk, and eggs. Knead for at least 5 minutes, then let the dough rest for an hour or two.
3. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
4. Stir together cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, cardamom, brown sugar, and butter.
5. Use a rolling pin to roll out dough into a square shape about ½ inch thick. Spread cinnamon mixture evenly across the surface of the dough.
6. Roll the dough into a cylinder.
7. Use a sharp knife to slice the dough into buns about 1 inch thick.
8. Brush the egg yolk over the tops of the buns. Sprinkle pearl sugar over the top of each one.
9. Bake for about 20 minutes, or until cooked to the center.
10. Serve warm.
